THERAPY FOR ADULTS
Space to Feel Understood, Supported & Empowered
Katie offers both in-person and virtual therapy sessions to fit your life. With over 18 years of experience, she works with adults from all backgrounds and life experiences, supporting them through challenges like anxiety, depression, attention-related issues, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, burnout, and trauma. Katie creates a welcoming space focused on your needs, helping you develop both the insight and practical tools to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence.
BEYOND TRADITIONAL TALK THERAPY
While Katie views talking and processing as helpful and important components of therapy, she also believes that talk therapy alone often isn't enough, tangible tools are essential to create lasting change and build resilience in daily life. Katie enriches traditional therapy with evidence-based approaches carefully tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. She integrates multiple therapeutic modalities to support your journey, such as Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help you develop present-moment awareness and learn to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively to life's challenges, EMDR for processing trauma, and Somatic Experiencing to deepen your connection with your body and build the nervous system capacity needed to move forward with both strength and safety.
A MINDFUL FOUNDATION
Katie begins with mindfulness as the cornerstone of her work. This practice extends beyond just finding calm; it strengthens your attention and builds your capacity to be present with life's experiences, including the challenging ones. By fostering non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, feelings, and sensations, this foundation supports deeper therapeutic work and helps you respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically to challenges.
Often we are not consciously aware of our habitual thought patterns, emotional triggers, or the ways our body holds stress and tension. Mindfulness is about bringing awareness to these automatic processes, noticing when your mind spirals into worry, recognizing how certain situations activate old wounds, or becoming aware of how your shoulders tense when you feel overwhelmed. We can't make changes to patterns we're not aware of, which is why cultivating this conscious awareness becomes the foundation for all other therapeutic work.
Research consistently demonstrates mindfulness as an effective approach for supporting wellbeing because it helps you develop a new way of relating to yourself and your experiences, ultimately transforming how you respond to life's difficulties.
COLLABORATIVE & PERSONALIZED CARE
Katie specializes in helping adults explore meaningful therapeutic work, creating a collaborative partnership that honors your unique journey. She deeply believes that each person is the expert of their own life journey, even if they may not realize it. Her role is to offer tools, resources, and a space for authentic connection that supports you in authoring the changes you envision for yourself.
She'll work with you to create a treatment plan that combines your needs and goals with her clinical insights, celebrating progress along the way, whether that's sleeping better, feeling less anxious, building stronger relationships, being more grounded, or feeling more regulated. Her approach balances consistent support with gentle challenges when you're ready for them, all within a secure therapeutic relationship where you can safely explore, grow, and achieve your goals.
If you're thinking about starting therapy, Katie offers a free 15-minute consultation. This initial chat is a chance to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, answer your questions, and explore if working together feels right.
